Hongdae Skin Booster: Rejuran vs Juvelook Differences

Key Points: Rejuran (PN, derived from salmon DNA) is generally considered for skin condition recovery such as inner dryness and rough texture, while Juvelook (PDLLA + hyaluronic acid) is aimed at collagen stimulation, skin texture and firmness around the pores. Which skin booster suits you depends on your main concern, the dose and depth used, and the delivery method (needle or Mirajet), so a skin assessment during consultation matters more than the product name.

What is the real difference between Rejuran and Juvelook?

The easiest way to tell them apart is the main ingredient. Rejuran's key component is PN (polynucleotide), a DNA-derived ingredient extracted from salmon. Juvelook combines PDLLA with hyaluronic acid (HA). They're often mentioned together, but they are not the same kind of treatment.

PN is used to support the skin's own regeneration in the dermis, with the goal of helping damaged skin condition and moisture balance recover. In Juvelook, HA is the moisture-related part, while PDLLA particles are intended to stimulate the skin's own collagen production in the dermis.

In short, Rejuran focuses on skin condition recovery, and Juvelook focuses on collagen formation to refine texture and firmness. Individual results vary.

Which skin booster is better for my skin concerns?

In a Hongdae skin booster consultation, the starting point changes depending on your main concern. Here's how I usually think about it.

If you have deep inner dryness and your makeup keeps lifting, Rejuran is usually considered first. It is mainly considered for inner dryness, a stressed skin barrier, fine lines and skin texture. Depending on the area and concern, it is planned as Rejuran Healer (inner dryness and texture), Rejuran HB (with lidocaine and HA), or Eye Rejuran (for the thin skin around the eyes).

If enlarged pores and bumpy texture bother you, Juvelook is usually considered first. It is mainly considered for firmness around the pores, texture and fine lines. Juvelook Skin is injected into the dermis to refine texture, while Juvelook Volume is injected into the subcutaneous fat layer and considered for cheeks, nasolabial folds and under-eye concerns. The depth and purpose are different.

If you have both concerns, a combination of Rejuran and Juvelook can be planned. Many people worry about inner dryness and pores at the same time. In that case, the dose and treatment area for each product are divided according to which concern is bigger.

  • Inner dryness, makeup lifting, sensitive skin: Rejuran

  • Enlarged pores, uneven texture: Juvelook

  • Both concerns together: Rejuran + Juvelook, with doses split by priority

What if I'm hesitating because of pain?

Fear of pain is one of the biggest reasons people put off a Hongdae skin booster. You want to care for your texture and dryness, but picturing a needle going into many spots on your face can make you postpone starting. That's especially true if you're sensitive to pain.

For people with this worry, we also explain another delivery method: Mirajet. Mirajet is a needle-free injection device that uses the physical pressure of a laser to create tiny channels in the skin and delivers the product through them as a fine jet.

One point is important. Mirajet is a delivery method, not an ingredient. Rejuran and Juvelook are the products that go into the skin, and Mirajet decides how they get in. Being needle-free does not mean better results, or no pain or bruising, and what you feel varies from person to person.

That's why I check how suitable each product is for Mirajet before planning. Dr. Paul Jung at our Hongdae branch uses the same standard, reviewing skin condition and product characteristics before choosing the delivery method. Rejuran + Juvelook Mirajet is also performed only after this check.

💡 Mirajet changes how the product is delivered, not what the product is. Pain and bruising still vary from person to person.

Why do skin booster prices differ so much between clinics?

Even for the same Rejuran or the same Juvelook, prices can look very different from clinic to clinic. Instead of looking only at the price or package name, it helps to look at the treatment composition.

There are two things to check. First, the exact dose (cc) that will actually be injected. The same product name can mean a different treatment depending on the dose. Second, the delivery method. Whether it's injected directly with a needle or with Mirajet changes the procedure and the cost structure.

So when you book a consultation, a good selection standard is whether the clinic clearly explains the dose and the delivery method.

What matters most when choosing a skin booster?

New skin boosters keep appearing. But I look first at products whose safety has been verified and that have been used for a long time, rather than at whatever is newest. And I plan based on your skin as it is now, not on a trending product name.

If you're also considering lifting, order matters. A common approach is to address the deeper layers first with Ulthera or Thermage, then use Rejuran or Juvelook as a skin booster on the surface. Because they work on different layers, whether to combine them and in what order is decided after checking your skin condition.

Dr. Paul Jung at the Hongdae branch shares this approach and reviews the product, dose and delivery method with the same care. Before any treatment, we honestly explain what you can expect and where the limits are, and we start only when you understand. We don't recommend treatments you don't need.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I get Rejuran and Juvelook on the same day?

Yes, they can be planned together depending on your concerns. Because the two products differ in ingredients and purpose, we first look at whether inner dryness or pores is the bigger concern and whether the treatment areas overlap, then divide the dose and injection area for each product. Whether to do them on the same day or space them out is decided after checking your skin condition that day.

How is Rejuran HB different from regular Rejuran?

Rejuran HB adds hyaluronic acid (HA) and lidocaine to the PN ingredient. Lidocaine is an anesthetic ingredient, and the added HA makes the composition different from regular Rejuran. Which product suits you is decided together after reviewing your skin condition and concerns.

Does Mirajet give better results?

Mirajet is not a better ingredient but a device that delivers ingredients in a different way. It's hard to say that being needle-free means better results or no pain or bruising at all. What matters is which product goes into which area, at what depth and dose. That's why suitability for Mirajet is checked separately for Rejuran and Juvelook before planning.

Which should I choose if I want fewer pores and smoother texture?

Juvelook is mainly considered for firmness around the pores, texture and fine lines, so it is often the starting point for pore and texture concerns. If you also have inner dryness, a combination with Rejuran may be planned. Results vary from person to person, so the final choice is made after a skin assessment.

If I'm also considering lifting, what order should I follow?

A common approach is to address the deeper layers first with Ulthera or Thermage, then use Rejuran or Juvelook as a skin booster on the surface. Because they work on different layers, whether to combine them and in what order is decided after checking your skin condition.
